Vision, Mission & Beliefs

Watsonville High School will graduate community, college and career ready students who will add to the positive growth of the city. Graduates will recognize all cultures and generations, with a call to bring up every community member and deliver full respect to all peoples of Watsonville.

MISSION

WHS Counseling Program is designed to empower all students with the knowledge and skills to successfully pursue their college and career goals. Students are supported as they acknowledge and develop their strengths and overcome any challenges on their way to becoming contributing members of their community.

BELIEFS

All school counselors at Watsonville High School believe:

All students have the potential to succeed.
Every student has the ability to learn and be successful.
In empowering students with support, guidance, and connection.
Each student has their own individual genius that is waiting to be awakened and developed.
Connection, counselor-student relationships are very important/impactful.

All students are a gift and bring assets that make the world a better place.
When given high expectations, students rise to the occasion.
Systemic racism must be recognized and mitigated in order to provide equitable access to opportunities for all.
Nurturing the environment and nurturing the socioemotional well-being of students will help them attain academic success and be lifelong learners.
