2020 WHS Local Scholarship Application

Due Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at 2:30pm

The local scholarship are scholarships provided from community organizations. These providers like to see students from their community succeed and, therefore, offer scholarships only to Watsonville High School seniors.   There is one application and students will be considered for several of them. You will need to complete the application in one sitting. Read below for important information.

Scholarship Check List: To be considered you must provide the following:

  • Online Scholarship application: You will need the following information for the application before you begin: List of extracurricular activities, community service, and sports/ School and community awards and honors / Employment information/Personal Statement(see below for details)

Submit online by March 11, 2020 at 2:30pm

Hard copy documents to submit:

Personal Statement:

You may include the following:

  • What has shaped you as a person?
  • What are your educational and career goals?
  • Why have you chosen these goals?
  • How do you envision making a contribution to your community after you complete your education?
  • Include any special circumstances or unusual hardships.



WHS Cash for College  

(Financial Aid Workshop)


Who: Seniors and Parents/Guardians

What: This workshop is for seniors and their parents to complete the FAFSA or Dream Act application. There will be financial aid experts to help families navigate through the application process.

Where: WHS Library

When: February 12th from 5pm-7pm

Bring the following documents:

Please bring a Chromebook.

(Both student’s and parents, unless student is a foster youth)

• 2018 Tax Returns

• 2018 W2’s or income information

• FSA ID (for FAFSA applicants)

• Social Security Card or number, if you have one

• Permanent Resident Card, if you have one

• Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN)

• List of colleges you are interested in attending

• Most current bank statements

• Any records of untaxed income

• Driver’s license, if you have one


Create a FSA ID  High school seniors filling out the FAFSA - Before the workshop, please go to the website: and create your FSA ID. You will need this ID to complete your FAFSA application. Parents will also need to create a FSA ID, unless the student is a foster youth.
