Watsonville High
Model United Nations

Who we are:

A group of active and motivated WHS students who care about the world and the well-fare of the global community. We write position papers and go to coneferences at which we participate in interactive debate with students from all across the state. Our club is blessed to have two of the coolest teachers at WHS as our advisors; Mr. Lindberg and Mr. Summers, and our officer team this year kicks butt! it includes: Roxie Brown President, Seamus Gunn Vice President, Valerie Chamberlain Secretary, Kelsey Scott Treasurer, Frank Gama Director of Policy, and our three Secretary Generals for CCMUN Coleman Segal, George Martinez, and Robert Gross.

What we do:

Model United Nations is a club in which students learn how to look at real world issues from the perspective of other contries. we learn about the policy's of nations that, in some cases, we never even knew existed! we get to go to colleges all across California and debate with other high school students on topics that effect the entire world! and we often come up with very viable solutions that could be implemented on an international scale! This year, in WHS MUN, we are going to four conferences! (One of which is the national conference in New York City!!!) The conferences we plan to attend this year are; UCLA, Santa Teresa, NHSMUN, and WCIMUN.

We also are holding our Annual Conference here at Watsonville High. To find out more about the Central Coast Model United Nations Conference (CCMUN) or to register for the conference please send an email to our advisor at melvin_lindberg@pvusd.net. Please include information on your school, your advisor, and the number of students that will be attending. As soon as Mr Lindberg recieves an email indicating interest from your school, he will send a registration form/packet with more information.

If you recently signed up for this conference, you were assigned a country. Your school should send a representative to the following working groups:

Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (Word Format)

Social, Humanitarian, and Cultural Committee (Word Format)

    UN Development Program (Word Format)

    Security Council(Word Format)

    World Health Organization(Word Format)

And a big thanks to all that have donated in the past!!!
