![]() The Environmental Science and Natural Resource Academy is Watsonville High School’s GREEN Academy. Through a series of courses such as Marine Biology, Environmental Horticulture, and Environmental Science, ESNR provides students with the skills necessary to get that green job- the jobs of the future. With established partnerships with the Monterey Bay Aquarium, UC Santa Cruz, Community Alliance of Family Farmers and more, we learn about the environment, sustainable agriculture, and conservation of natural resources. Expect to get your feet wet- our classes involve hands-on projects and field studies, from our on-campus garden to Elkhorn Slough and beyond. There has never been a better time to go green In this time of change in our world’s perspectives on environmental issues, there has never been a better time to pursue a course of study which emphasizes environmental stewardship, sustainable agriculture, and the safe and efficient use of natural resources. There is a bright future for green jobs, and the ESNR academy has had this in mind as we have designed our program. We will provide you with real world job skills- what it takes to be successful in this dynamic and competitive world. At Senior level ESNR course we offer Preparation for College and/or Careers in Environmental Science Environmental/Resource, Conservation, Alternative Energy (Solar, Wind…) Sustainable Agriculture, also Project-based component with SCWIBLES fellows in class Internships, Mentors and Job Placement, Some career opportunities are: Financial Accountant, City Planner, Organic Chemist, Computer Specialist, etc. For more information or an individual appointment to tour the facilities, please call (831) 728-6328 or (831) 728-6390 ext. 1919.
